Beyond Borders 2008

13th Annual International Student Art Competition

The Beyond Borders International Art Competition is open to all currently enrolled undergraduate students on the west coast. This exhibition is designed to showcase outstanding artwork created by Fine Art students in the Western United States and Canada and to stimulate dialogue among new artists, their peers, and the established art community.

The competition is open to the following disciplines of Ceramics, Drawing, Graphic Design, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Textiles/Fibers, and New Media/Video/Web. The goal of this exhibit is to give student artists the opportunity to display their work in a museum setting, to advance their progress towards successful artistic careers, as well as allow community members the opportunity to view and discuss the work of emerging artists in the region. The title of the exhibit, Beyond Borders, refers to our hope that this exhibit will encourage communication across community, national, international, as well as social borders. We hope to remind viewers and participants that art has the power to transcend all boundaries.

Submission deadline is March 14th 5:00 PM

Jurors include Paul Brower from Western Washington University, John Feodorov from Fairhaven College and Rebecca Hutchins from Bellingham Allied Arts.
